Common sense analysis of this, that and the other

I last got excited about music when discovering Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, before that The Leisure Society and before those laid back lads, Elbow who I learned of way before the rest of the UK when watching the trailer for a since defunct US television series whose name escapes me. You know how it feels, you drop everything and search iTunes or Spotify wondering why you had not heard such excellence before, and loving your found treasure, repeatedly listen to each album, picking out your favourite tracks to listen to in the future.

Oh how it refreshes the soul and imagination!

Well, for once, an ad on Spotify actually drew my attention. Who’s this 70s mod rocker looking singer I haven’t heard of before? A certain Jake Bugg. So I clicked through, discovered he’s in fact a now lad with a Dylanesque visual and musical style and as per the widespread praise on his debut album reviews, another example of why true brilliance and success comes from an inspired soul, not mass broadcast schadenfreude disguised as entertainment.

Try Jake and give mediocrity Two Fingers.
